We have inserts in the newspaper, printable coupons, mobile coupons scanned off your phone…and now E-coupons.
All of these stores we go to make us carry a store card in order to get the sale prices. Well turns out just about all of them have a way to “load” a digital coupon on to it. Some are store exclusive and some load onto “all” the store cards you have registered in that program. Let’s use Cellfire as an example.
You would sign up for Cellfire then add your Giant Eagle card #, your Kroger #, your Rite aid #…sign up all your shopping cards. I have the app on my phone but you can do this on your PC, tablet etc.
Then scan thru all the coupons and “clip” them. Or should I say “click”. You can pick or choose which ones you want. There’s no limit to amount of coupons you can clip unless there’s a limit on the “store” card. When you swipe your store card they should automatically come off. I say “should” lol. If you give them a paper coupon and you have an electronic coupon clipped-it will automatically default to the paper one. Electronic coupons do not double if your store doubles. You do not get to use a paper and an electronic “but” it gives me both all the time. I asked Cellfire about it and they said they don’t encourage both but realize it does sometimes give both. So there you go…
Each store has their own electronic coupons too. Riteaid ones are called “Load2Card” they aren’t supposed to give you both either but they do all the time. If you don’t get both you can’t complain about it because you weren’t supposed to get both in the first place. But if you do…then great-it’s a bonus!
Saving star has more of a “rebate”. You put your store card #s in and it keeps track of your purchases no matter what store you’re at. Then after you build up to $5 you get it in your PayPal account, bank account, Amazon gift card, or donated to your favorite charity. Takes about a week after you buy it to hit your account. Every Friday they have something that’s 100% free after rebate!
